Building on their success on Dota 2, Paris-Saint Germain Esports and the Chinese structure LGD are expanding their partnership with the opening of a FIFA Online section.
The free-to-play dedicated to Asian territories entered the FIFA eWorld Cup circuit last year, a great opportunity for the capital city’s club to establish its presence on the EA Sports game and to strengthen its relations with China thanks to its partnership with LGD.
Yassine Jaada, Chief Gaming Officer of PSG Esports said during the team’s announcement press conference in Beijing: “We have always been very well received in Asia and particularly in China. This arrival on FIFA Online is very logical for Paris Saint-Germain, we are happy to start this new adventure, hand in hand with LGD.”
The PSG.LGD team on FIFA online will be composed of Li’ “Yuwenc” Sijun, Mo “MzDragon” Zilong, Chen “Milano” Junyu and the Frenchman Johann “ManiiKa” Simon.
Still in Beijing, Xuan Li, Chief Strategy Officer of LGD said: “We are pleased to welcome this new team with three prestigious players: the EACC Spring 2018 and CEFL S2 champion, MzDragon the City Competition-Guangzhu S1 champion and Milano, the best Chinese EACC record.”
Yassine Jaada added “With such an accomplished team led by Maniika, our goal is nothing less than qualifying for the EACC and it will start on Tuesday 23 October” and concluded the press conference by mentioning the club’s desire to continue its development on the Chinese territory: “Our eyes are already focused on 2019 and you can be sure that we are not yet done with our investments in China.”
PSG Esports and its partner LGD have hired a second Chinese team, just a few months after the start of their common adventure that led to the title of World Runner-up in the Dota 2 World Championship. The adventure has only just begun. Ici c’est Paris!
