Paris Saint-Germain take the first step into eSports

October 20th, Paris. During a press conference held at the Parc des Princes, the first three faces of PSG eSports were officially unveiled.

With more than 256 million fans worldwide and an incredible growth potential, eSports has become so popular that it is expected to generate over a billion euros in 2019 thanks to games such as League of Legends, Hearthstone and FIFA which are massively played.

President Nasser Al-Khelaifi stated : « We have decided to invest in eSports and to enter our teams in two of the sector’s most iconic games. The decision forms part of the club’s international development strategy and our digitisation project, and represents a new way for Paris Saint-Germain to engage with its fans and to attract new ones in key development markets. We have big plans for the next three years.»

Paris Saint-Germain eSports enters FIFA with the Danish prodigy and twice World Champion (2014, 2016) August ‘Agge’ Rosenmeier.

PSG is also wishing to train tomorrow’s players like the highly skilled rookie Lucas ‘DaXe’ Cuillerier. At only sixteen he is a rising star of FIFA and is already considered as one of the best player in the world.

To supervise these young talented players of PSG eSports, the French former pro League of Legends player Bora ‘YellowStar’ Kim is going to ensure the role of Head of eSports. His experience on the field and his well-known wisdom are going to be precious for a new formed team. Bora will be responsible of the recruitment of PSG on League of Legends and FIFA. Eventually, the team will include ten people : a coach, seven players, and two analysts and will be based in Berlin where the official league of Riot Games is established.
